This is a one of a kind piece of wearable art made for the Five and Diamond Ninth Annual Headgear Art Show and shown on June 18, 2021.

Trevor and Lia sought to capture the sense of reverence they feel when considering the miraculous scientific achievements of our transhuman superorganism with “Deliverance.” Leveraging a stylized gothic architecture motif, this hat filters light through meticulously arranged stage lighting gels. Bathed in patchy color, the wearer assumes the focal point of a halo-esque rose window. Together, we are the new gods. Handmade in Oakland, CA.

MATERIALS USED

U.S. tanned "Latigo" leather, Polyester stage lighting gels, nylon thread

WEARING INSTRUCTIONS

The hat can be worn at brow level so the wearer is cast in colorful light or worn back to achieve a halo effect. The x-stitch seam is meant to be the back of the hat. the lighting gels can be cleaned with diluted mild soap on a soft cloth and the leather can be wiped clean and protected with saddle soap.
